Our Pastors

Pastor Jay, his wife Roxanne, and their two boys, Alex and Ashton have been at Lighthouse Bible Church since 2012. He and Roxanne are passionate about Jesus Christ, helping families through Marriage Alive ministry and counseling couples to get their lives moving in the right direction. They believe that it takes strong families, to produce a strong church and in effect a strong nation. Jay loves spending time with his wife and boys. He enjoys home improvement projects. He enjoys fishing, hunting, and baseball.

Pastor Josh Cunningham has been a member of Lighthouse Bible church since 2012, a member of the elder board since 2016, and accepted a position as the Administrative Pastor at the start of 2021. He grew up in the Vinton area attending William Byrd High School and later attending Emory & Henry College where he studied Physical Education and played basketball. Pastor Josh served as an educator and basketball coach for 10 years, teaching Physical Education and Special Education, as well as coaching basketball, at Roanoke Catholic School and William Byrd High School. Pastor Josh felt the Lord’s calling upon his life as the 2020 year came to a close and took the step in faith to join the ministry at the start of the following year. He has a passion for doing Kingdom work here at Lighthouse Bible Church, seeking to glorify God and lead people to Jesus, with a skill-set of leading, administrating, and communicating.

Pastor Josh married his wife Melissa in 2013, and they have been a part of the Marriage Alive Sunday School class since it launched in 2012. His wife Melissa has a passion for women’s ministry and telling people about Jesus Christ. Pastor Josh and Melissa have two beautiful daughters Charlie and Harper. Pastor Josh has a love for sports, especially basketball (for obvious reasons!) and spending as much time with his family as he can.

Pastor Alex Richards graduated from Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy in 2020 and graduated from Liberty University in 2023 with a major in business administration. He married his wife Tess a month later in June. God called them into youth ministry shortly after marriage. They both share a passion for teenagers, and they believe it is the most crucial time in a person’s life. Alex is passionate about both watching and playing sports. He played baseball in high school and enjoys playing pretty much everything that involves competition.
