Scripture tells us tithing is as much a physical practice as a spiritual discipline, and it is the one time God allows us to challenge Him to access His overflow of blessings (Malachi 3:10). He commands us to bring our tithings to His house, and He says in doing so He will “pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.”
Scripture also tells us that money is the top competitor for our commitment to Jesus (Matthew 6:24). The obedient act of intentional tithing glorifies God. By bringing back to God what is rightfully His, we also remind ourselves everything comes from Him. When we bring our first and best to God, He has promised to take care of the rest!
