2 Kings 4 a widow woman was soon to lose her two sons to slavery because she could not pay her debts. Elisha comes into the picture, tells her to gather as many empty vessels from her neighbors as she could find. She gathers as many as possible. Elisha takes her little jar of oil and fills all of the other empty vessels with oil. Elisha then tells the widow to go and sell the oil, pay her debts and keep the rest of the money to live on.

nWhat I love about this Bible passage is the woman's faith in what the prophet asked her to do. She is really trusting God and not Elisha. She did not question Elisha, she just went and obeyed. Now she was in a desperate situation. But even after seeing the oil multiplied, she still had to go and sell it. In other words, she had faithful, she obeyed, and she worked doing her part.

nI think we are to do the same. Trust God and His Word! What He leads you to do, do it heartily unto the Lord and trust God with the results! Amen!
