"And David said to Gad, "I am in great distress. Please let us fall into the hand of the Lord, for His mercies are great; but do not let me fall into the hand of man."" nâ€â€II Samuel‬ â€24‬:â€14‬ n nDavid took it upon himself to number the people of war. This was a sign of taking matters into to his own hands to lead rather than trusting in the Lord. The Lord was going to bring judgment and this is when David speaks this verse that he would rather fall into the hands of God than the hands of man. David says why this is the case, because God is a God of mercy! Amen! 🙠He is a God that always would rather show mercy over judgment. So many times people continue to harder their hearts and stiffen their necks toward their own will and way, as David did here, and God brings judgment. This is another example of the fact that God doesn't want us living our lives independently of Him. He wants us walking with Him! Oh the blessing of walking with the Lord!
