2 Samuel 11-12

n Leading up to 11 and 12 we saw that David was a man of integrity, but we get to see the weakness of David and the consequences of his actions in 11 and 12. God had made David's way prosperous because He had plans that He wanted to fullfill through David. His hand was upon David, but that didn't make David exempt from being faced with temptation. This is a reminder that we must be vigilant in our walks with the Lord. The choices that we make outside of the will of God will have dire consequences. God was gracious to forgive David and merciful toward David. Although David suffered consequences, God still had a plan to be fullfilled through David. He dealt with the consequences and was able to move forward in doing what God called him to do only because of God's grace.

nTo sum it up we see a picture of God's redemption. This is a reminder of God's goodness toward us, although we fall short.

nDavid was allowing his flesh to lead him. We see the importance of abiding in the presence of God.
