Psalm 78:36-37, "Nevertheless they flattered Him with their mouth, and they lied to Him with their tongue; 37 for their heart was not steadfast with Him, nor were they faithful in His covenant." nThe Israelites saw God do so many things within their journey out of Egypt. The Psalmist lays these things out very clearly in chapter 78, and yet the heart of the people was not steadfast with the Lord. They wavered all over the place . The Psalmist went on to say that God could have e done so many great things in their midst, but He didn't because of their lack of steadfastness. WOW! To flatter with your lips is of no value whatsoever. Why would we inflate what should not be inflated. Why should we seek to do this to man, let alone to God? God knows the heart. May we not say anything to God that we do not sincerely mean! May we not be like the wave of the ocean up and down, in and out. "God help us to be steadfast in walking with You! Give us the grit to be faithful!"
