"Today you have proclaimed the Lord to be your God, and that you will walk in His ways and keep His statutes, His commandments, and His judgments, and that you will obey His voice. Also today the Lord has proclaimed you to be His special people, just as He promised you, that you should keep all His commandments, and that He will set you high above all nations which He has made, in praise, in name, and in honor, and that you may be a holy people to the Lord your God, just as He has spoken." Here Moses makes an awesome proclamation: You have become the people of God. Wow! But as the people of God, we are to walk in His ways and obey His voice! This is key if we are going to claim to be Gods people. A mere casual acquaintance with the Lord isn't sufficient. We must devote ourselves to the Lord and love Him with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength. If we are the people of God, this is the requirement Moses laid out to the people and it certainly should be said of us. Amen!
