John 12:3, "Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil." This is an incredible act or worship. First of all, the text says that the oil was very costly. This particular oil was the value of one year of wages. Whew! What a huge sacrifice. Secondly, Mary took the one thing in her culture that women prided themselves in, kept hidden many times for their husbands alone, placed oil and very costly things into for a greater appearance and this was her hair. A woman's hair was her prized possession. Her beauty was in her hair. She took her hair and wiped the feet of Jesus. I do t think we can grasp how sacrificial this was in worship. Many times we give without sacrifice, pray without tears and fasting and then wonder why we sow and don't reap. God does business with those who mean business. Mary made such a sacrifice we are still talking of it today. What an example! What a heart! What a love she had for Jesus! May we do the same! How can you sacrifice more for the Lord? What can you give? Who can you tell? How can you serve?

John 13:27,30, "Now after the piece of bread, Satan entered him...30 Having received the piece of bread, he the. Went out immediately. And it was night." Jesus has just washed the feet of the disciples. He says clearly that one of the disciples will betray Him. John asks Jesus who will betray Him? Jesus says, to whoever He gives a piece of bread. Jesus gives the bread to Judas and Satan enters into Judas. But notice, as soon as Jesus gives the green light, Satan enters Judas and Judas leaves "immediately." Satan wastes no time to destroy Jesus. Immediately he leads Judas to betray Jesus. I praise the Lord for the protection He provides for us because Satan would enter us and destroy us if we did not know Christ. Praise God for His leading and protection. May we have no open doors for Satan to work. May we keep no sin accounts that would give Satan an open door to work in our lives. Let's confess our sin and be clean before the Lord!
