Leviticus 26, the Lord God lays out clearly His commands of promise with blessings and His retribution. If the people will follow the Lord living by His Word, He will bless their crops, destroy their enemies, and have His hand upon them in abundance. For instance in verse 8, "Five of you will chase a hundred." This is totally supernatural as to what God wants to do. The land of Canaan will be theirs and God will bless them greatly. But in verse 17, God tells them that they will "flee when no one pursues" if they don't obey Him. It is equally true in our lives. We are total cowards when the Lord is not Lord of our lives. But there is such a holy boldness when He is our Lord. When we honor and obey Him, He blesses! Amen! Let us lay our lives down today, tomorrow, and forever that we may make much of Him and less of us. Oh the blessings that come from a surrendered life!
And wow, John 10 is amazing!
Leviticus 25-26
Leviticus 25 talks about the year of Jubile in which debts are forgiven and bondservants are set free. The year of Jubile was a year of abundance and freedom and a year where the children of Israel were to help each other prosper.
Leviticus 26
There is a contast in reading the first part of this chapter verses the last part of this chapter because the first part of this chapter talks about the abundance and blessings over the children of Israel. They were to honor the Lord their God and keep His statutes and commands, otherwise, they would not be blessed. They would bring great sorrow and anguish upon themselves for being disobedient. This is a reminder that God is good and holy. He can't be anything else. We must honor Him because He can not be a part of sin. When we abide in Him and are obedient to Him, we are blessed, but when we go outside of His will, we are choosing to walk in a way that He can not be a part of and when He's not in it, it isn't good. There is no good apart from the Father.
1 Peter 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
