1 John 4:4, "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world." Pharaoh had quite a time with the magicians of the world as they were able to mimic some of the plagues that God brought against Pharaoh through Moses. Eventually the magicians could not mimic the plagues because they were too great. The reality today is that many are mimicking proclaiming the word of God and they absolutely have no idea what they are talking about and the people are gullible enough to believe what is false. Churches all around us are misleading people because the people do not know the truth. Like poor Pharaoh when he said to Moses and Aaron, "I do not know your God." Whew. Many today sit in churches with the name Baptist, Methodist, and so forth, anemic in the Scriptures and do not know God. Today is the age where we must read the Word, know the Word and not be misled by some preacher that doesn't know the word or have a backbone to proclaim it. May the Homy Spirit lead His people in truth and awaken us in revival!

Exodus 7-8

Pharaoh's heart was so hardened toward the Lord that some of the worst plagues I can imagine came over him and the Egyptians. Even when the Lord releived them of the plagues, Pharoah was quick to harden his heart as soon as things were going his way.

There are always consequences for disobeying God and walking outside of His will. The more that God is resisted, the harder a heart will become. I believe that Pharoah knew that God existed, he just didn't want to submit to Him, so he chose to reject Him, and thus, hardening his heart.

1 John 1:4

Verses 17 through 19 really stand out to me because it's saying that we are to have boldness in the day of judgement and that perfect love casts out all fear. If we fear, we have not been made perfect in love. This makes me remember God's perfect love to send His son to die on the cross to cover our sins (love covers a multitude of sins). If we truly love one another, we will not want to see any parish, just as God doesn't want any to parish and we will share the truth that sets us free in love. I pray for God's love to overflow in us so that we will have the boldness to share His hope with those who haven't accepted Christ as Lord and Savior, as well as loving our brothers and sisters in Christ.
