Genesis 48-49 touched my heart in the manner that Jacob gathers his family together to give the blessing of the Lord upon each of them before his death. He gives a prophetic blessing upon each of his children prior to his death. This is the formation of a nation, the formation of God's chosen people and they would even bear the name that God gave to Jacob...Israel. Jacob prepared his children for his death, told them where he wanted to be buried, and had it all planned out. I think this is a good model for us to follow. The more we prepare for our departure to heaven, the less burden will be upon the people that we love. Without a doubt when you go to meet the Lord it will be incredibly hurtful to those that love you, but your preparation will make things much smoother in a very tough time. Jacob gave his wishes for Joseph to carry out. Previous instruction plus a dependable person in charge made everything run smoothly. Takeaway: God knows what He is doing. Walk as close to Him as possible, He sees it all and knows it all, and will never lead you astray. Praise His name!
"So He said to them, "When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. And forgive us our sins, For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one.""

"Father, today Lord, deliver from the evil one. You have the power and might to draw all unto Yourself! Do it today Lord! Move today in such a mighty way that all will know it is not your servants preaching or teaching or loving or leading, they will know it is You! Father bring your presence today and deliver people from the chains that bind. May people fall in love with you today and fall in love with prayer. I love you Lord!"
Genesis 48-49 Israel blesses two of Joseph's sons and calls all of his sons to bless them according to their fate. Israel is to be buried in the cave that Abraham bought for Sarah to first be buried and where Abraham himself, Isaac, Rebekah, and Leah were all buried. It is amazing to see how everything is coming full circle. How God had laid a foundation for Abraham and his seed that would be a blessing to the generations after him. It makes me think of the foundation that God sets through us when we give our lives to Christ, how that's a blessing not just to us, but how our lives are a testimony to those after us of Jesus Christ and how that is a seed that is sown. I recently lost my uncle Nelson. He had made preparations for his burial also. The life he lived was a testimony of the Lord because he loved the Lord. Everyone who knew him, knew that he loved the Lord. He loved being in church, studying the word, and singing for the Lord. He was humble, kind, and hard working. Everyone found so much comfort in knowing that he went home to be with the Father and I personally was so touched by his live for Jesus Christ. The choice we make to live for Christ is a seed itself that lives on long after q
we have left our earthly home and went on to our heavenly home. Our salvation of the Lord Jesus Christ is the greatest blessing of our lives and to the lives of others. God is so very good in how He loved us so much to bestow such a blessing upon us as the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ!
