Gen 44-45- Wow, such forgiveness, mercy, and grace. What a picture of Christ and his love for us. Acts 22-Paul shares his testimony, not even angry people taking off their clothes and throwing dirt in the air could stop him.
Genesis 44-45, Joseph reveals to his brothers that he is Joseph it is heartwarming to see this family reunited after all of these years. It is amazing to see how God turned evil for good. It is a blessing to see that Joseph understood that God turned evil for good and used his brothers evil deed to put Joseph in a place to save the world. Sounds similar to Jesus! Well, Joseph is a forerunner to the Lord Jesus and there are many similarities: Joseph was rejected by his brothers the first time as Christ was rejected when He came to this world. The second time, Joseph was received by his family and Jesus when He comes the second time will be received by this world. Second, reconciliation was possible because Joseph had suffered and prevailed, and what a picture of our Lord Jesus who suffered upon the cross and prevailed over the grave and the sin of humanity. What a blessing to see Christ in the Old Testament! The Bible is a Him book, it is all about Him! "Thank you Jesus for revealing yourself to us in a similar way that Joseph revealed himself to his brothers. And You saved the world!"
Genesis 44-45 Joseph was very hurt by what his brothers had done. It's like he had come face to face with the hurt and was torn between resentment and forgiveness. He seemed to be overwhelmed with it all and untimely chose forgiveness. Through all of the hurt, He was able to see that God worked it all out for his good as God's word says that He will do for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. In many circumstances in our own lives we have to see the goodness of God in it- His plan, despite the hardships. God is with us in the mountains and in the valleys, we just need eyes to see His hand at work.
