Genesis 4:16
God answers Joseph after years of faithfulness.
God miraculously gave Joseph wisdom and discernment on the spot with Pharaoh because Joseph consistently and faithfully walked and served God despite years of trials and hardship. He understood God is good, controls our circumstances and God only has the answers "WHY". Joseph was faithful to wait on God for the answers his heart desired.
Gen 40:52. "God has made me fruitful in the land of my suffering."
Genesis 40-41, what stood out to me is God continuing to bless everything that Joseph puts his hand too. The baker and the butler are placed in prison with Joseph and Joseph cared enough to ask them about their countenance and why they were sad. The kindness of Joseph was forgotten, but it came back to him two years later and Joseph was eventually made to be second in the kingdom of Pharaoh. The love of God produces a kindness in us that cares for others regardless of who they are. It is amazing really what a little kindness can do! May we be kind to one another, loving to one another. This kindness may not even be reciprocated in the moment, but remember, the Lord will ultimately reward it! You may not rule a kingdom, but the Kingdom will be ruling you and this brings so many blessings!
Genesis 40- Joseph has the gift of interpretation. When the cheif butler and the cheif baker of Potifer's house are placed into prison they are given dreams. Joseph interpreted the dreams accurately. The cheif butler is released in 3 days, but doesn't even mention Joseph to Potifer. He didn't even seem grateful! The other guy, the cheif baker was also released in 3 days but is killed as Joseph interpreted he would be. How unfortunate! I think seeing the fate of the baker would have made me appreciate that much more it wasn't my own fate if I were the butler. It's a reminder to me to be grateful and to acknowledge God and to praise Him for the blessings He has given us. Our own situations could always be worse- when we feel discouraged to remember that.
Genesis 41- Pharoah was a ruthless ruler, however, God used Joseph's gift of interpretation to once more find great favor with Pharoah. Joseph was assigned to make sure that during the 7 years of plenty, the harvest was stored up so once the 7 years of famine came, Egypt did not lack of anything and people from other nations were coming to Egypt and buying food from them, which brought them greater wealth. Joseph went on to marry Asenath, Potipherah's daughter. He had two sons. One was named Menasseh because God had made him forget all of his toil and his father's house, and then named Ephraim because God had caused him to be fruitful in the land of His affliction. Joseph honored God in naming his sons. When the Lord blessed him, he didn't forget God, but he honored Him. Joseph was grateful to God. God had brought him through so much and blessed him abundantly.

I just wanted to make a correction. It was Pharaoh's cheif butler and cheif baker in Genesis 40, not Potifers.
