False witness can rise up but it does not compare to the Lord who sends us. No matter how bad Gods people are persecuted, we must stay focused on the mission. "But they could not stand up against the wisdom the Spirit gave him as he spoke."
â€â€Acts‬ â€6‬:â€10‬ â€
"All who were sitting in the Sanhedrin looked intently at Stephen, and they saw that his face was like the face of an angel."
â€â€Acts‬ â€6‬:â€15‬ â€
Again, God can do anything He wants to do. "Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another's speech." So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city."
â€â€Genesis‬ â€11‬:â€7‬-â€8‬
The Lord was protecting Sarai and Abram from Pharaoh. "But the Lord plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai, Abram's wife."
â€â€Genesis‬ â€12‬:â€17‬
I love to see Abram setting boundaries with Lot and speaking very boldly about where he stood. "So Abram said to Lot, "Please let there be no strife between you and me, and between my herdsmen and your herdsmen; for we are brethren. Is not the whole land before you? Please separate from me. If you take the left, then I will go to the right; or, if you go to the right, then I will go to the left.""
â€â€Genesis‬ â€13‬:â€8‬-â€9‬
Genesis 12:13, "Please say that you are my sister, that it may be well with me for your sake, and that I may live because of you." As Abram enters Egypt he tells his wife to tell a lie because he is afraid they will kill him for his wife. Abram said that his wife was beautiful and they would desire her. Abram lacks faith to trust God to take care of him and his wife, trying to play God, he formulas a lie. Imagine this, Pharaoh called him out on it. The Lord plagued Pharoah because of Abram's wife being in his house. Because Abram lied, the lie did not work as Abram desired and they took Sarai into Pharaoh's home. It was the Lord who stepped in and still protected Pharaoh and Sarai in spite of the lie. The said part is that Pharaoh calls out Abram over the lie asking him why he would have done this. Not a good testimony from Abram to the lost Pharaoh and Egypt. It is never right to do wrong. We have to trust God to care for us and lead us even when it is hard to speak the truth. God has His children! Amen! Praise the Lord! Thank God Abram learns from this and grows to be a great man of God.
"And Lot lifted his eyes and saw all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere (before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah) like the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt as you go toward Zoar. Then Lot chose for himself all the plain of Jordan, and Lot journeyed east. And they separated from each other. Abram dwelt in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelt in the cities of the plain and pitched his tent even as far as Sodom. But the men of Sodom were exceedingly wicked and sinful against the Lord."
â€â€Genesis‬ â€13‬:â€10‬-â€13‬ â€NKJV‬‬
Lot had first pick on the land in which he would settle. He chose the land which in his eyes was beautiful and fertile. But that land was close to Sodom and full of sin. Got me thinking on the consequences of our choices. What does God want for me, not what I want.
