"And in the process of time it came to pass that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the Lord. Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the Lord respected Abel and his offering, but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell. So the Lord said to Cain, "Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it." Now Cain talked with Abel his brother; and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him."
â€â€Genesis‬ â€4‬:â€3‬-â€8‬ â€NKJV‬‬
What stood out to me is the destructive power of jealousy. Cain became jealous of his brother and committed sin by not listening to and obeying God.
So many of us are still doing what Eve did in Genesis 3:6. God is telling us not to do something, He is calling us out of a certain sin, yet we find the "good" in it, and we choose our will over Gods. "So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her and he ate." Eve found 3 good reasons why eating the fruit was justifiable. Her sin then affected those around her (Adam). Unfortunately, disobedience to God is never just about us...it tends to have a domino effect.
Also, giving birth is an opportunity to link hands with the Creator to continue the generations but it's also extremely painful due to the woman's punishment. Makes me wonder if epidural's are going against what God intended for us? Like, trying to outsmart God. Either way, it's fascinating.
Reading how God asks Eve, Adam, and Cain what they have done is immediately showing the importance of confession and repentance.YET! What a merciful and loving God to put a mark on Cain to protect him even though he deserved mega punishment for killing his brother.
Genesis 3-4: Satan crawls his corroded way onto the pages of history and deceives Eve to eat of the tree. I notice that Satan is not an originator; he is a "clever imitator who disguises his true character" (Wiersbe). Satan can disguise himself as an angel of light, he used a serpent to disguise himself. God had called the serpent good earlier in the time of creation. Satan is still an impersonator today. He has a counterfeit righteousness that does not come only by faith in the Savior. Satan has counterfeit ministers (2 Cor. 11:13-16) that preach a false Gospel. In this text, Satan took Gods words and twisted them to trick Eve into eating the fruit. If you read Genesis 2, you understand why there is murder, war and all kinds of evil in this world. God did not create the evil. Man lived in a perfect garden naked and unashamed. When they sinned, God killed an animal and clothed them in its skins. Man through his sin brought all of the horrible things we see today. And guess what? The more we sin, the worse the world will become. Oh how we need the people of God to repent and turn to the Lord! This is our only hope! 2 Chronicles 7:14!
We lived in his image, in perfect eternal peace and lite never to die, only to love and live in harmony with God, until sin. Until the devil used his number one tool of deception. Using good (God) for evil so began sin. All sin. All bad in this world is driven by our own sin. And it will only continue to get worse the more we send, the harder this world becomes. Sharing the gospel is our only tool. Acts 2 reassures us that God's word is trustworthy. We can have perfect eternal life with him once again. By sharing the gospel of Christ, Jesus. Praise!
"Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?" Peter said to them, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

This is just beautiful. It is displaying the pain and humility from sinners, and then everlasting grace and love from God. Even tho these men were part of the reason that Jesus was crucified, they are being given the option to repent and be immersed in the name of our Lord. What a loving God we have.
