In this passage, Jesus closes the Sermon on the Mount with the parable of the wise and foolish builders. He contrasts those who hear His words and put them into practice—like a wise man building on rock—with those who hear but do not act, like a foolish man building on sand. When storms come, only the house on the rock stands firm.
